Gladys Gill Iddings

Gladys Gill Iddings, 82, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in Charlottesville, following a short illness.

Born January 26, 1928, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Minnie Bennett Gill.

Mrs. Iddings moved to Richmond in 1946, where she worked at Sears and Roebuck until her retirement after 36 years of service and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Richmond.

Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Archie V. Iddings, on July 10, 2003; three brothers, Robert Ray Gill in 1926, Corporal Harles D. Gill, who was declared Missing in Action December 2, 1950, in Korea, and was recovered 58 years after his death, and C.E. "Ted" Gill, who passed away on January 8, 1975.

Mrs. Iddings is survived by her daughter, with whom she had made her home the past six months, Darla Iddings Minton and her husband, J. Andrew, of Charlottesville; one step-daughter, June Williams and her husband, Joe, of Portsmouth; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel, Hinton, West Virginia, with her nephew Pastor Ron Iddings officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marie, West Virginia.

Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6 until 8p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
