Harry "Ed" Edward Ott Sr., 70, of Louisa, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009, at his home.

Mr. Ott was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Elmer and Josephine Hill Ott; stepfather, Darwin Portmess; and his previous wife, Romana Page.

He was member of the The Vienna Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Carolyn A. Ott; his son, Edd Ott Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Sterling, Virginia; his daughter, Mellissa Jacobs and her husband, Johnny, of Maysville, North Carolina; his stepson, Butch Wall and his wife, Diane, of Louisa; his brother, John Ott and wife, Jan, of Paw Paw, West Virginia; his mother-in-law, Daisy Goodnough of Louisa; his sister-in-law, Joyce Baldwin and her husband, Larry, of Denver, North Carolina; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

His remains rest at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa, Virginia, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, at Woodrow Church Cemetery in Morgan County, Paw Paw, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.
