James Shifflett Obituary
He was born on May 26, 1935, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late James and Maggie Shifflett.
He is survived by his children, James "Eddie" Shifflett and his wife, Lesa, of Grottoes, George Shifflett and his fiancee, Lisa, of Dyke, Charlie Shifflett, Tammy Hobson, Jennifer Shifflett-Sheets, Richard Shifflett and Monica Dawson, all of Baltimore.
He is also survived by his siblings, Helen, Velma, Patsy, Naomi, Charlotte, Maggie, and Timothy Paul; 10 grandchildren and his companion, Kathy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gilbert "George Pickett" and Lizzy; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Evergreen Church of the Brethren.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Evergreen Church of the Brethren with the Reverend Curtis Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. An online guestbook is available at www.ryanfuneral.com. Ryan Funeral Home of Ruckersville is handling the arrangements.
