Joyce Anne Shelton Maki, 75, of Orange County, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born on December 16, 1934, in Charlottesville, the daughter of Jarrett D. Shifflett and Viola H. Wood.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Franklin Eugene Shelton; and a sister, Cornelia Turner.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from C&P Telephone Company and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed cats, card playing, and yard sales.

Joyce is survived by her children, Elizabeth Shelton, Charlene Goodman, and Diana Grogan; grandchildren, Clayton, Theresa, Tony, Wesley, Christopher, Eric, Melissa, Zachary, Mark, Kendall, Katrina and Crystal; great-grandchildren, Devin, Briahna, and many more; and closest friend of 50 years, Jo Walter.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Chancellorsville Memorial Gardens.
