Kenneth Pierce Obituary
Kenneth Wayne Pierce Kenneth Wayne Pierce, 66, of Scottsville, died on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born on June 23, 1944, at Hatton Grange Farm, the son of the late John Lloyd and Irene Berger Pierce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Clay Edward Martin, who was like a son to him.
Mr. Pierce was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Esmont. He served in the United States Army in Germany and Vietnam and had retired from LexisNexis as an inventory manager. He was a member of Scottsville V.F.W. Post 8169, where he currently served as Quartermaster, and the American Legion Post 0074. He enjoyed woodworking and was known as a handyman.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie Irene Pierce and Kari Lynn Pierce, both of Scottsville; his special companion, Catherine Hudson Martin of Scottsville; and her daughter, Samantha Martin of Tuscon, Arizona; a brother, Franklin Pierce and his wife, Beth, of Roseland; two grandchildren, Thomas Dale III and Brooke Pierce; his former wife, Wanda Herndon Pierce of Scottsville; an aunt, Beulah Beran and her husband, Bennie, of Richmond; and a number of cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, by the Reverend James C. Jetton. Burial will follow at Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at the funeral home.
