Lucy Christine Easton

Lucy Christine (Stargell) Easton, 83, of West River Road, in Scottsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Envoy at the Village in Fork Union.

She was born on January 9, 1927, in Alberene, a daughter of the late Walter Jackson and Lucy (Cleveland) Stargell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Herbert Stargell.

Mrs. Easton was a long time member of Scottsville Presbyterian Church and the Charlottesville Moose.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Austin Easton; a daughter, Joan Easton Roberts and her husband, Mike, of Charlottesville; two sons, Jimmy Easton of Scottsville and Larry Easton and his wife, Lisa, of Scottsville; two grandchildren, Michaela Roberts of Charlottesville and Michael Roberts Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Woodridge; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Faith; a sister, Mary Stargell Kidd and her husband, Ray, of Scottsville; two brothers, Peyton "Bud" Stargell and his wife, Mavis, of Long View, Texas, and Milton Stargell and his wife, Irene, of Schuyler; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville by the Reverend Gordon Lindsey. Burial will follow at Alberene Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Scottsville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 186, Scottsville, VA 24590; or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Attention Tribute Gifts, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.

The family would like to thank the staff of Envoy at the Village for the care and concern they gave "Mrs. Lucy," and Dr. Robert Adams for his help with her battle with Parkinson's.
