Marjorie Risk Crispell

Marjorie R. Crispell, 91, died at her home at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge in Charlottesville, on Sunday, November 28, 2010.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann E. Ross of Madison, Wisconsin, Kathleen J. Crispell of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Thomas S. Porter; Bobbie Crispell Johnson of Pennington, New Jersey, and Richard D. Johnson; and Peggy Crispell Bourke of Winnetka, Illinois, and Robert R. Bourke.

She is also survived by her sister, Harriet Risk Woldt of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Crispell and two children, Connie and John Crispell.

Marge was born in Spring Lake, Michigan, and grew up in nearby Muskegon. She graduated from the University of Michigan, where she met her husband, Ken. They lived in Pavilion I on the Lawn for 22 years.

Interment will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010, at the University Cemetery, followed by a celebration of Marge's life 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel at the University of Virginia. Following the chapel service, a reception will be held in the Rogan Room at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John and Connie Crispell Memorial Fund at the University of Virginia, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, P.O. Box 400303, Charlottesville, VA 22904 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville VA 22911.
