Shelby Jean Rosson
Shelby Jean Rosson, 56, of Crozet, passed away peacefully at Martha Jefferson Hospital on Sunday, October 17, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 16, 1954, in Albemarle County. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse J. Viar; two brothers, Donnie and Billy Viar; one sister, Debbie Burgess; and a stepson, Greg Rosson.
Shelby is survived by her husband of nine years, George Rosson Jr.; two sons, Jamie Fisher of Schuyler and Chris Fisher of White Hall; her mother, Ruby Viar of Crozet; step-children, Randy Rosson, Ashley and her husband, Paul Jr., of White Hall, Jessica and her husband, Kendrick Hawkins, and Rose Rosson of Waynesboro; mother-in-law, Hattie Coleman; two brothers, Ronnie Viar and his wife, Linda, of Crozet and Jimmy Viar of Crozet; two sisters, Linda Fitzgerald of Waynesboro and Barbara Sandridge and her husband, Keith, of Crozet; sixteen grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces who will miss her dearly.
Shelby enjoyed the outdoors, she worked outside as a farm manager and various landscaping jobs. She loved her horses, riding and taking care of them, and also the beach, swimming and just being in the sun. She loved her family and friends, and would help with anything that was asked of her.
Shelby's family would like to thank the Oncology Department, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, and the nurses on the seventh floor.
Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
