Vada Goode Obituary
Vada Blevins Goode, 93, a lifelong resident of Nydrie Farms in Esmont, died on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born July 9, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Maude Shepherd Walls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Goode; a son, Randolph Vincent Goode; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Goodwin Goode.
Mrs. Goode was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for others. She showed her love through her handcrafted gifts, especially her afghans and renowned pickles. She was a member of Scottsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Thomas A. "Sonny" Goode of Esmont; a grandson, Allen R. Goode and his wife, Tina, of Charlottesville; two great-grandchildren, Laurel Ann Goode and Thomas A. Goode, II.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville by the Reverend Jeane Dunkum. Burial will follow at Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009, at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their thanks to her caregivers from Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Sonny and family,
I was sorry to read of the passing of your mother. I met Mrs. Goode through the Paige Family after moving to Esmont, she was a really nice lady.
I know she will be truly missed by her family and friends.

I was with Vada when she came to the nurseing home we would set and talk it was a joy she was so well loved by everyone I realy thought a lot of her went to see her every chace I got after I retired. Sonny you will be greatly rewared for being so kind to your Mom she loved you evey much.
