Walton "Wally" Tymoff

Walton "Wally" Shanklin Tymoff, 92, of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at a local care facility.

She wass born on June 6, 1918, in Crozet, the daughter of the late Walton Shanklin and Aurelia Zirkle Shanklin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Tymoff.

Wally spent her early childhood and early adulthood in Charlottesville. She and Robert lovingly raised their children during the years they lived in Arlington. She attended high school at St. Catherine's in Richmond and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Education.

Surviving her are two daughters, Catherine T. Marzella and her husband, Nick, and Elizabeth Waller; a son, John S. Tymoff and his wife, Cyndi; three grandchildren, Christopher Tymoff and his wife, Wendy, Michael R. Tymoff and R. Anthony Marzella; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan M. Tymoff, Dahlia K. Tymoff and Stella J. Tymoff.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Paul Walker officiating. Final disposition will be at the church yard.

The family expresses their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care of the staff at the Colonnades.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
