Elizabeth Cramer Obituary

Cramer, Elizabeth Shawver 84, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. Her funeral will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Rev. Ben Disney will officiate. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Elizabeth was the only child born to Floyd L. and Quilla V. Umsted Shawver, a pioneer ranch-ing family in Jack County. Her mother and grandparents owned a general merchandise store in Vineyard. She attended Texas Wesleyan College and then Southern Methodist University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Home Economics in 1945. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta and later joined the alumni association at Texas Christian University where she served in many capacities. She was a Class Beauty at TWC and all 3 years at SMU. Elizabeth was employed at W.C. Stripling Department Store in interior design. She married Judson A. Cramer on Valentine's Day in 1948. She was an associate of her husband's business, J. & J. Supply, Inc. for 22 years, serving as treasurer, comptroller, and bookkeeper. Elizabeth was a member of Westcliff United Methodist Church for 50 years. She was a past member of Banker's Wives, Women of Rotary, and past president, secretary, and treasurer of Phi Lambda House Corp. Delta Delta Delta. She was a former volunteer for Cook Children's Medical Center in Hematology and Oncology. She was an active member of Junior Woman's Club before transferring to The Woman's Club where she was a member of Etta Newby and president of its Woman's Wednesday Study Club. She was also a member of the Fort Worth Garden Club. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jud Cramer; daughters, Karen Cramer and Carmen Cramer, grandson, Drew Tracy and wife, Sarah; great-grand-daughter, Zenith Tracy; and Jud's sister, Maurine Gilliland. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate donations to Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briar-haven Rd.
