News Death Notice

McCORMICK, Augusta Lucille age 84 of Dayton, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. McCormick in 1997, her parents, Oba Dallas and Martha Elizabeth Shirley and two brothers. She is survived by three children: Roger D. McCormick and wife Gail of KY, Barbara Medley and husband Howard of Fairborn and Delores Hutt and husband Ron of AZ. Four grandchildren survive her: Amy Ediger of GA, Christopher McCormick of WV, Jimmy McCormick of TN and Ryan McCormick of KY, as do two great grandchildren: Benjamin and Maggie Ediger. Two brothers also survive her: Willie Shirley and wife Jackie and Doyle Shirley, as does a sister, Ruth McCormick, a sister-in-law Jackie Shirley, two step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Augusta loved her grandchildren and spent much of her time caring for them as well as maintaining an interest in nutrition and healthcare. She worked for NCIM Marketing as a food demonstrator at various Dayton area grocery stores. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver on Tuesday evening, January 18 from 4 PM until 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 with Pastor Jerry Siler officiating. Interment will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens following the funeral.
