Paul Beattie Obituary
AGE: 65 • Hockessin
Paul M. Beattie, 65 of Hockessin, DE passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at his home.
Paul was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Alberta (Hewitt) and Harry F. Beattie. He was a graduate of McKean High School and was a member of the first class that walked from John Dickinson High School to McKean. As a youth he was a member of 4-H and had prize winning cows at the Delaware State Fair. Paul worked as a technical engineer for DelDot for 48 years.
He enjoyed Western music, the WWF, dining out and showing prize winning Portuguese water dogs. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Edward A. Hoinowski and his great nephew, Jayden O. Watts.
Paul is survived by his sister, Jaqueline L. Hoinowski; his nephew, Christopher Hoinowski (Ginny); his nieces, Laura Hoinowski, Karla Hoinowski and Karyn Adebiyi (Dayo); his great niece, Amelia; his great nephews, Carter, Seth and Josh and his companion and friend, Cheryl Beattie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to a favorite charity. mealeyfuneralhomes.com
