DELAWARE — Jean Curtis, 64, of Delaware, died at home unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 1, 2017.
She was born on May 13, 1952, at Jane Case Hospital to the late Clifford and Florence (Kerr) Curtis. Jean graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in 1971. She was currently employed as an inventory clerk for Advanced Auto. During her 45 years of employment she developed many wonderful friendships with her co-workers at Advanced Auto.
Described as simple and fun loving, she was a homebody. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching the birds from her patio, and reading books. She was quite the story teller and freely offered her opinion. At times quick-tempered, one always knew which side Jean was on.
She collected owls and pigs, a collection began by her mother. Jean was at her best when surrounded by her family and especially her nieces and nephews. Her family picnics will long be remembered as will her love of family.
Jean is survived by her siblings: Ruth (Ken) Hing, Janet (Rick) Jones, Marilyn (James) Jones, all of Delaware, Robert (Janice) Curtis of Ostrander, Steven (Cindy) Curtis of Waldo; 11 nieces and nephews, and 17 great-nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her niece, Presley R. Jones.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at West William Street, Delaware. Graveside services will be observed privately by her family Thursday at Marlborough Cemetery with Pastor Dan Maurer officiating.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place East, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785.
