Lyle D. Jenkins

Lyle D. Jenkins 1936 ~ 2009 Lyle D. Jenkins, 73, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was born April 14, 1936 in Vernal, Utah to David Owen and Adra May Atwood Jenkins. He married Carol Kay Hodgkinson September 20, 1962 in the LDS Manti Temple. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1955. Soon after, he received an Associates Degree from the Salt Lake School of Electronics. Lyle was employed with AT&T Communications for 30 years as an electronic installer. He was a devoted American who supported his country. He served in the United States Army as a Private 2nd Class. Lyle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings including: Elders Quorum Presidency, High Priest Presidency, and as a faithful Home Teacher. He served in the Southwest Native American Indian mission. He was a good example to us all in how he magnified his callings. Lyle loved gardening and yard work. He loved BYU, his family, and the Lord. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Kay, of 46 years, children Karen (Todd) Robarge, Orem, UT., Lee Ann (Joe) Toland, Orem, UT., Justin (Michelle) Jenkins, Springville, UT., Jo Lynn (Mike) Carpenter, Orem, UT., Janice Jenkins, Orem, UT., Jaclyn (Derek) Hansen, Orem, UT., 15 grandchildren, sisters Doris (Ted) Walker, Mesa, AZ., and Ilene (Fred) Creviston, Orem, UT. Preceded in death by his parents, son Jay Jenkins, sister Vada (Earl) Riding, and brother Ivan A. Jenkins. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Northridge 4th Ward Chapel, 150 East 1750 North, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services on Monday.
