Irene Aurora Clay

CLAY Irene (Aurora) Clay (nee Losego) was born on November 24, 1920, in Coshocton, Ohio, and passed away June 1, 2011. Irene worked as a beauty operator, and later for 15 years at the family-owned X-L Cleaners and Tommy's Cleaners. Irene was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Irene was named after the Aurora Borealis ("Northern Lights") by her parents who emigrated from Barcis, Italy. Irene most certainly lived up to that name, because she was the light of our lives. Irene was a loving wife and mother, and possessed such an enthusiastic, magnetic personality, once you met Mom, you'd never forget her. And if you ever enjoyed one of Mom & Aunt Lou's Sunday noon dinners (followed by a competitive card game), you knew you had a pretty good day. Mom will be sadly missed forever. Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband Ben, parents Angelo and Chiarina (Paulon) Losego, sisters Louise Losego and Mary (Uhlan) Emerson, and brothers Francis (Lorraine), Fred (Antonietta), John (Ruth) and Mario Losego. Irene is survived by her daughter, Luanne (James) Russell; son, Kevin Clay; and beloved grandson, Christopher Russell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
