Eddie and I shared a common bond. We both had cancer. I am still fighting for the fourth time. Whenever I saw Eddie, usually at Tim Horton's with his friends, his smile would light up the room. To all the Guice family members,
Although I went to Central High School, I remember Eddie as a fine individual and a good athlete at the Linden McKinley games. I only wish I could have known him better. He has accomplished a lot in the short life he had. May all of you find much comfort in the happy memories that he leaves behind. God bless you!

I got the pleasure to know Coach Guice through various years of AAU Basketball. Guice would light up every room he walked into. I remember going to my basketball games and hearing him from afar laughing, with the biggest smile on his face. Eddie not only was kind-hearted towards me, but my entire family as well; giving his famous bear hugs to us all. He was a man full of life, and surely took advantage of the time he was here. Heaven has received a wonderful angel. Rest in Peace Eddie Guice, you have surely made an imprint on my heart forever.

To the Guice family. Sorry to hear of your loss. Eddie was a special friend to me and lots of athletes in ohio, meeting Eddie was a scorer's delight. Eddie may have been 5'7 but on the court he seemed 7 feet tall in statue. Eddie commanded and controlled everything on the court his game was tenacious, he could easily score 40pts on anyone in the city. He was a very patient, kind and respectful person who always took time to share basketball knowledge with younger players especially guards. Eddie wrote the book for today's guards as we know to be shooting/scoring guards. Any night after 6:00 pm we would go to OSU campus in the 70's to the cages, and there they were Rodney,Tony,Skip and Eddie Guice always together, man just wanted to play with those guys. Eddie Guice, what a role model, my Hero Forever and Always. RIP Eddie !!!!!!!!!

Playing AAU basketball wouldn't have been the same experience without Eddie. Having my dad as my coach, I'd always witness him and Eddie arguing... atleast once every tournament, then being buddies an hour later. It was so entertaining, and I'm sure they're probably arguing about something right now. He was such a caring person and changed the lives of many ballers. Many prayers to the Guice family.

My condolences go out to the Guice family. Mr. Guice played a big role in my life both as a basketball player as well as the man I have become today. I can remember the times he challenged me to shooting contest on the hoop in his backyard and the way he would push me to be a better defender. He always treated me with respect and always had a smile on his face. I will miss him very much and he will always have a special spot in my heart.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

It is hard to speak of Eddie without including his wife, Cheryl. I went to high school with Eddie and have known him since then. His and his wife's dedication to each other and the youths in Columbus and the entire state goes beyond what can be detailed in this small space. So many people have been touched by this family and no words can express the sadness of this great loss. The accomplishments are many. Yes, he will be missed but he has left a legacy that will live on forever. I pray that God will carry all of you through this difficult time. You all are such a wonderful family and you have the love of everyone. Hugs and Kisses.

Eddie you will be missed. Eddie was more than a person, he was my friend, my brother, and he was my team mate. We did a lot of things together on the court and off the court with family and friends. If you every had a conversation with Eddie you had to make sure you had some extra time. If you were waiting on Eddie you still needed to make sure you had some extra time. If at anytime you needed anything and could here his sermon you were blessed. For he was in and a part of your life. No one could ask for a better friend than Eddie. The thing to me that is so very impoortant is the numbeer of young lives he has touched and the memories he will have left with them for years to come. When the basic of life are stressed it is my hope that they think and reflect to one talkitive Edward L(Eddie) Guice. I will miss you deaply my brother. Eddie Guice was one of the nicest people I ever met! We lived in the house behind the Guice's in Westerville and I remember all the times he lifted my 2 youngest children, Chris & Jamie, over the fence to shoot hoops.
