Virginia Powell Thrasher

Virginia Powell Thrasher, 87, of Flintville, passed away Sunday (Sept. 27, 2015) at Lincoln Medical Center. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Effie Edna Wall Powell. Mrs. Thrasher was not only a homemaker but also very business minded and hardworking, managing her family's rental properties, as well as rental of their farmland. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Shela Krell and husband, Jim, of Chicago, Ill., and son, Royce Thrasher of Flintville. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Revs. Milton Martin and Carlos Beddingfield officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
