Mary Hendricks Obituary
Mary A. Majczyk Hendricks, 73, of Erie, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Erie, on November 25, 1942, daughter of the late Stanley and Florence Andrejewski Majczyk.
Mary was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 610. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mary organized the original Handicap Cub Scouts of Erie. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert R. Hendricks, grandson Gregory John Hendricks, sister Audrey (Tina) Heeter, and brothers Stanley (Tom) Majczyk and Gary Majczyk.
Survivors include her husband Robert R. Hendricks, daughters Michelle Pochatko (Roger Peters), and Christine Watkins and husband Charles, sons Gregory Hendricks and wife Renae, and Jeffrey Hendricks and wife Karen, and sisters Christine Moczulski and Kathy Farrell, all of Erie, 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Jim Heeter and sisters-in-law Geraldine and Sue Majczyk.
Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Ash St., Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. My first neighbor when I was 19! Will always remember her kindness and love and devotion to her family. I became good friends with Michelle as she grew! Gods blessing to all the family! They knew me as Carol Decker! So sorry for your loss!
