Martha Myers Robison

Martha Myers Robison SPOKANE, WA Martha Myers Robison died on June 19, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. She was 81. 'Marty' was born March 4, 1929, in Hanover, one of seven children. She was the daughter of the late Harry Herr Myers and Emily Smith Myers. Marty graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1947. She was selected as the very first Miss Halloween in Hanover in 1947. She married Ray E. Robison of Havana, Kan., and had six children. Her husband was a career officer in the U.S. Army, so they lived in various states and in Germany. Marty eventually settled in her cabin on the National Forest in Cusick, Wash., where she lived happily for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, youngest daughter, Diane, and sister, Elinor Myers Smith of Hanover. Ray and Marty were married from November 1947 until his death in 1968. She never remarried. After Ray's death, Marty earned a Master's degree in Gerontology at North Texas State University in 1979 and then went on to earn a PhD. Marty is survived by her children, Sue Lorraine Rohm of Cusick, Wash., Phyllis Kropf of Kennewick, Wash., Gail Toothman of El Paso, Texas, Judy Robison of Vancouver, Wash., and Michael Robison of Sun City, Calif. Marty has 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Rediger, Sara Robins, Rob Kropf, David Toothman, Julie Phelps, Jason Haning, Kevin Michael Haning, Joshua Haning, April Taylor, and Matt Robison; and seven great-grandchildren, Maya and Grant Robins, Katelyn and Kailee Kropf, Hunter and Kai Phelps, and William Haning. Marty is also survived by her siblings, Maria Myers Wolf of Hanover, Susan Myers MacKerell of Stroudsburg, Henry (Patricia) Myers of Mechanicsburg, Barbara (Ralph) Rosazza of Avondale, and John (Priscilla) Myers of Farmington, N.M. Burial is with her beloved husband at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
