Walter "Pete" Priester

Satellite Beach, FL

Walter "Pete" Priester, 100, of Satellite Beach, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014.

Pete was born on September 9, 1913 in Maple Grove, PA. Pete married his high school sweetheart prior to joining the U.S. Army. After serving, Pete taught and worked as a master mechanic in Pittsburg, PA. In 1956, Pete moved his family to Florida, where he began his career in the space industry at Pan American World Airways. He was very passionate about his work on the Titan launch program. Upon retiring, Pete enjoyed golf, traveling with the Holiday Ramblers, and square dancing. Pete was an incredible man who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Pavick; grandchildren Jackie McCarthy (Mike), Jim Lindquist and Shelli Graves (Gary); great-grandchildren Ashley, Taylor, Chelsea, Niki, Keli, Megan and Maleah; niece Deborah McHenry (Mike), and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 69 years; his parents and only sister; and his great-grandson, Brandon.

A memorial service for family and dear friends will be held on Sunday, March 16 at 10am at Florida Memorial, Rockledge.
