Helen Railing Obituary

HELEN L. RAILING, 85, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at her residence. Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur A. and Iva (Spade) Kelly. She married Morton A. Railing on June 28, 1947; he passed away Sept. 30, 1970. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was involved with the American Legion Auxiliary; volunteered for the Bloodmobile; was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and Native American Associations. She was a homemaker and worked for Flitner's Bakery, General Electric and Niblick's, Decatur; and she also worked for Lerner's and J.C. Penney, Fort Wayne. She is survived by three daughters, Candace Railing and Melody Railing, both of Decatur and Tamara (Jeff) Edwards of Albany; one aunt, Velma "Libby" (Leonard) Liechty of Jimmerson Lake, Angola; and several cousins. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, with calling three hours. The Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial in Decatur Cemetery.
