Miss Marie taught my sister Annette 2 grades at Otter Creek Elementary. We moved to Ocala before she could be my teacher - my loss. It always brought a smile when we'd see her at every funeral we attended at Ellzey Cemetery. Seeing my other family she'd taught, she'd always ask about Annette. I remember when they were finally reunited - what a sweet reunion. Sadly, Annette passed away last Nov. and now her beloved teacher. We'll miss seeing and visiting with her. What a wonderful legacy Miss Marie left for her family. Jeannette Causseaux Koontz, Ocala, FL

She was TRULY one of the MOST AMAZING women I have ever known! I am so Blessed to have known her, loved her and be a part of her wonderful family. I will always miss her smile and her kind words. But as we layed her to rest on Saturday I found some peace with it knowing she was going to Heaven to be with the love of her life, her daughter and her other family. She lived a long, full 101 yrs God Bless her!

Ms Marie had a very full wonderful life. She was good friends with my grandmother who died in 1967. I went to visit her a few times about 10 years ago and I'd take her to Cedar Key for lunch. Every time I saw her I learned more about my grandmother which meant so much to me. She dearly loved her students and her life in Ellzey. An AMAZING woman!!!

May God bless the many families at this time of your sorrow. She was my cousin and I remember shared times in our younger lives, especially those Homecoming events at Ellzey United Methodist Church that my sisters and I enjoyed with Marie as leader and contact person for this homecoming.
