Gene set me up in business over 40 years ago. I miss the afternoon and evening visits with him and "Joe" in their museum after delivering thousands of Cornell University Drawers for the insect collections of the world. Gail, we are deeply saddened at his passing. Art & Gina Rossbach

I'm glad I was able to be with Gene for a short period of time before he passed. Jay and I will remember all of the times spent with Gene through the almost 13 years that we've known him and of course Jo. They are now together. In spite of times that were not the best, we were friends at the end. We have always held a special place in our hearts for Gene. Our sincere sympathy goes out to Jordie, John, Gail, and to Cookie, his latest caregiver. May Gene rest in peace - he will be remembered always.

Gene and I were professional colleagues for much of our careers. Our paths crossed many times and always with dedicated purpose and a commonality of personal and professional respect.
I will miss Gene's presence just as I treasured it during those memorable times. My condolencies to his family. Sam Breeland, Jacksonville, FL.

Gene was one unique guy. As the father of high school best friends we enjoyed hearing his stories about tropical travels and strange bugs. As adults, we became lifelong friends. He was a gifted artist, Bon vivant, fantastic story teller, accomplished entrepreneur and good friend. I asked him why he left Maryland to go to Florida in his later years and he said, "That's where the insects are!" I will miss his funny and acerbic emails and his great presence.
