Steve, Jewell and John,

I am so very saddened at the loss of Jeff. Not only have you been robbed of your son and brother, but the world has been robbed of a truly kind and great person. I will always remember Jeff for his peaceful and loving nature and I'm lucky that I will always keep and cherish the memories of bike tag, hide and go seek, and walking to school with him.

My sincerest love, wishes, and strength to all of you!

Steve and Jewell,

Gail C sent me the news and even though I never met Jeff, the very thought of losing a child is such sad news. From the comments in this book it sounds like he was a wonderful young man. I'll pray for strength for you and your son in the days ahead.

To the Meyer family:

I've been trying to find the words since Sunday, but there truly are no words. There only prayers, memories, and most of all love.

Of course Jeff is very much loved and always will be. He is someone who I have known nearly all of my life and it is impossible to look back at my school days and not have wonderful memories of Jeff. Although graduation took us Chipeta-Cougars in many different directions, Jeff's path is one of greatness. Jeff lived a life to be proud of and I am proud to have known him.
I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers,

Brett, Jamie, Hannah & Luke Brown

As Jeffrey's funeral service began in Colorado Springs this morning, a Mass was being said for him here in Saint Louis. A thoughtful letter which had been sent earlier to our son Steven by Jeff's friend, Sam Rethmeier was read to those assembled. If a man is known by the grace, the love and the generous spirit of his friends, then Jeffrey was a great man indeed. Sam you are a thoughtful and gracious man. As his grieving grandparents we are very grateful that such as you are holding up the world along with us. Thank you for the couragous way you shared your thoughts with us, his grieving family.

To our grandson, God speed Jeffrey, and a joy-filled journey Home.

Growing up with Jeff and fellow Calvary Youth will always have a special place in my heart. I remember Jeff as a caring person who enjoyed living life to its fullest. Jeff’s friendship was a significant part of my life. No matter what the situation I remember Jeff could somehow always get me to smile and laugh. As it is sad to lose a wonderful person, I can’t help but celebrate the great memories that are so dear to me. I wish I could be there for the services, but unfortunately I will not be able to be in Colorado do to military obligations. To the Meyer’s Family and Calvary Community, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
