Oh Josh,
It is only a few days away until Christmas and we miss you so much. It is unbearable. I find myself not wanting to celebrate Christmas, even though Jesus our Lord has given us daily strength. We have so many good memories. I finally put up our little tree and the first ornament I pulled out of the box was one that you made in school. It is a little chalkboard with your picutre. I know you were a man and not a little boy, but you will always be my 1st child. What they say about the love of a mom is true. Losing a child is the worst thing that a parent can go through. Dad, Ryan and I love you so much. We know you are safe in God's arms and you would want us to find some joy in life. We are trying...

My Josh, we miss you so much that our hearts are breaking. We know that you are with the Lord and at peace. You were a wonderful son and we loved you so much and were so proud of you. We know that we need to let God give us comfort and peace. We also know that we may never have any firm answers as to why this happened. I know that you are watching over us, my dear sweet son. Polly its Lori, Jennys mom. I wanted to express my profound sorrow at your loss. As a mom and grandmother I cant begin to imagine the loss you and your family are feeling at this time. What I do know is that everything happens for a reason. I lost my husband to the same fate and can only say that I truly believe that forgiveness, love and understanding are what helped me cope. You and your family are in my heart and prayers. If you need anything please dont hesitate to ask. Let the love and compassion of your friends and family wrap its wings around you all at this difficult time and know in your heart that your son is resting now. I was deeply saddened this morning upon hearing that Josh had passed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I hope you find the comfort and peace that only our God can bring. Time and distance can get in the way but they can't erase memories. I have many memories of times I spent with Josh. I saw Josh almost everyday for several years, him and his Dad were my neighbors at my Business, I could call him and he would be there, we had many laughs, I had locked my dogs in my car one day and he came right over irritated my Elvis so bad he didn't need to pop the lock, elvis was so mad at Josh trying open the door he jumped on it and unlocked it hiself it was hilarious and we laughed about it many times and swapped many stories, to read about his passing is somewhat a shock, I hadn't seen him in a while but I always thought of him as a Friend....I am so sorry to Rick and Polly as I considered them friends as well and know they are deeply hurting, if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate....I believe Josh has the key to open up the gates to Heaven....You will be missed dearly...

I did not know Josh personally as he was a co-worker here at UCCS with me. We had many conversations about our animals whenever he came into the office. He did a great job and was Johnny-on-the-spot whenever our office needed anything. He was a pleasure to work with and will be sorely missed up here at UCCS.
