I´ve been thinking a lot about Mr. Schneider. He was the first adult to really believe in me and make an effort to develop my musical talent. I really wish he was still around to talk to about life and music now.

Ten years ago--it's hard to believe and yet not. I'm grateful for the happy memories, and I'm even grateful for the now more uncommon moments when my heart is heavy. Regardless of the time that passes, our treasured relationships make an imprint on us.

I continue to see the legacy that Jim left in two of my children, who were blessed to study music under Jim. I cannot tell you how many times we speak of him. I will always have a treasured memory of watching the pride on Jims face as he watched my son conduct the high school band just before graduation. He came to me afterwards, just beaming. He saw the fruit of his labor and the many years invested in teaching my son a love for music that continues to this day. We miss you so much, Jim. I sure wish you could have been here in person to see my son, your student, perform at Carnegie Hall. That truly was incredible!
God bless, until we meet again.

I dont think I would have realized how long jim has been gone without this reminder and wanted to be sure to acknowledge his memory. I continue to try to understand why this happened and continue working through the sadness we still have knowing he left this world way too early. I pray that Jim and his family have found peace and value the fact that he continues to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Heather,
I never got a chance to meet you. Jim and my husband and I had grown apart over the past few years. I was trying to contact him earlier this month when I was in Colorado springs and then just today found out about his death. We are both so sorry. Jim was a wonderful friend and I know he loved you very much.

Heather,

I am assuming you were Mr Schneiders wife. I was one of his first students and I can't begin to tell you how much of a mentor and a friend he was to me during those ackward teenage years. He was a great teacher and for those of us lucky enough to be in his leadership team he taught us about what it was to be a true leader. He will be dearly missed and I am so sorry about your loss!

Dear Heather,
Our hearts are broken - we are so sorry for Jim's passing. We loved him. Two of my children had the privilege of being Jim's students. They loved him dearly and even after graduating from Timberview Middle School and going to high school, they would go and help Jim over the Summer with the music program. My son looked at Jim as a dear friend and mentor and feels this loss greatly. Please know that Jim has left a great legacy of music in all the students who were blessed to be taught by him. It helps me to remember him and his legacy during this time of grieving.
May God be with you and comfort you at this time.
