News Death Notice
COATES, Anita Cleve Age 86 of Okeana, passed away on Friday February 19, 2016 at Shawneespring of Harrison. She was born on November 12, 1929 the daughter of the late Laurence Littlepage and Anita (Hammons) Boggs. Anita was a graduate of Hamilton High School Class of 1947. On November 25, 1949 she married Eugene Grover Coates and he proceeded her in death on May 25, 1985. Anita is survived by her five children, Robyn (Ronald) Shupp, Anita (Tim) Stivers, Laura (Tim) Ray, Kathy Scroggins and Chris (Gayle) Coates; grandchildren, Blake (Indira Moyer) Rapp, Anita (Luic Mouton) Rapp, Wayne (Kathy) Shupp, Ryan (Geanna) Shupp, Jacob Ray, Caleb Ray, Jessie Ray, Kate (Salim) Qadir, Steven Brannon, Ashley (Miles) Welling and Neva (Chance) Cunard; numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Betty William, Wilma Cox, Laurence Littlepage Boggs, Clyde Westerman and Viola Coleman. Funeral ceremony will be held at 11am on Friday February 26, 2016 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026 Cincinnati, Ohio 45203. Words can't begin to describe how important my Aunt Cleve has been to me over the years ... my mom's little sister and my cousins have been a respite from my own school of hard knocks ... she was a true beauty and a very big piece of my heart is shaken to its core. I know she's in heaven with my grandma and grandpa and all of her siblings and her loving husband Uncle Gene ... but I miss her more than words can describe. I had so much fun and shared so much laughter with her over the years. She was a true class act that I was very lucky to know. Thanks for the love Aunt Cleve.
