Petal, MS
Memorial Services will be held at a later date for Mr. Jon D. Blackledge, 53, of Petal, MS, who died, April 7, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital.
Mr. Blackledge was retired from the United States Army as a medic with the 82nd Airborn. He was of the baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Marie Blackledge and a sister, Carolyn Moore.
Mr. Blackledge is survived by three sisters, Barbara Blackledge of Petal, MS, Deborah Fontenot of Petal, MS and Patricia Lord of Portland, CT; two brothers, Russell Blackledge of Old Lime, CT and Gregory Blackledge of New Haven, CT; four nephews, four nieces, four great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Jon i will miss your kind heart and your sweet smile. i never once heard you speak an unkind word about anyone,what a wonderful world this would be if there were more people like you.You had so little ,but gave so much .You would give someone your last dollar that was just the type of person you were,Selfless ,always thinking of others.i never heard you complain not even through the horrible disease that took you away from us.i will miss you dearly , my dear sweet Uncle Jon .i love you.
