I met Roberta in 1973 in Decatur when I was working as an employment specialist with the State of Illinois. I was taken by Roberta's gentle spirit and the kindness that shown in her eyes. She had a very proud way of carrying herself. I didn't stay in touch with Roberta after I left Decatur but she has been in my thoughts over the years. I still have handwritten cooking recipes that she gave me and they always bring back fond memories of her when I reread them. I'm sorry that she didn't have a longer life.
