Norman Macy Obituary

Norman Wayne Macy

Norman Wayne Macy, age 44, of Tulalip, WA, died on Saturday, May 28, 2011. He was born December 3, 1966 in Everett, WA, the son of Berlyn Ray Macy and Joanna Kuiken Barker and lived in South Everett until he graduated from Mariner High School in 1985, then off to his many travels and adventures all up and down the West Coast. After a long illness, "Storm" fought bravely, living a full year after his doctors had given up. He got to see his granddaughter, Maleah, born, something he wasn't sure he would see, and he made it to his 16th anniversary with the love of his life, Jeanette.
Norman resided with his life-long partner, Jeanette, for over 16 years, meeting each other in Lake Wenatchee, WA, and moving to Tulalip, WA in 1997, to reside with his father and help him maintain the property there for many years. Norman worked at many crafts and jobs over the years and was not afraid to try or do anything. He did specialized home remodel projects, worked with his father in the tree topping business, and worked in the Lake Wenatchee area with his father. He was a lover of many things, including children, animals, nature, laughter, and as his nephew, Shaun, said, "he was brilliant at everything". He was a character. He had numerous hobbies and interests, including being outside, his love of nature, creating things out of nothing, and making people feel special. He lived life to the absolute fullest and pushed the limits to the extreme. He loved life and wanted to experience everything. He was truly an inspiration to many people, touched more people in his lifetime than we will probably ever know, was loved, and will be greatly missed in this world.
Norman is survived by his significant other/soul mate, Jeanette Kingery, her daughter, Michelle (Bobby); her son, Robbie (Amanda); his granddaughter, Maleah; his sister, Carole and her son, Shaun; his father, Berlyn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to count.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Joanna; his special aunt, Sadie; his grandpa, Elmo; and other family members much loved and missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Avenue, Everett, WA.
Memories may be submitted to the Facebook accounts or to Carole's email ([email protected]) or to Jeanette's email ([email protected]).
Memorial contributions can be made to the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation.

I am so sorry to learn of Norms passing, he was a great friend to me. I think back to all the fun we had in school. So young and full of life happy all the time, would cheer you up if you didn't ask him to. I will miss trying to beat him at a game on facebook and his humor when you didn't beat his score. He was an Angel and will always be in my heart. I will miss you my dear friend...

A year ago I met a man who was facing his death that was suppose to happen very soon. Over that year I found a brave, strong young man who was going to show everyone that he was not through with this life and a very exceptional person. Norman, you could be frustrating, non-compliant and obstinate but you were also funny, caring, more intelligent than anyone would ever know and someone who enriched my life greatly. I wish I could tell you all that you taught and gave to me without your knowing it. Your jokes, video games, the fish and babies dropping down, stories about what Boeing is doing down the road and all the other conspiracy things and just being you. Thank you. What will I do 3 evening a week ? Sherrie

I'm so sorry, Norm you will be missed by soooo Many people,I've been going through all the letters & poems & Songs you wrote me. You really knew how to write and touch people. Your voice, I remember you & Nicole singing duets in my car, You both sounded so good, Your singing in Jazz choir, You loved to hit those low bass notes. You were my first love. You taught me how to love and I'll always remember you for that. I think about you every December 3rd you would call me for years on my Birthday, I'm sorry we lost touch. I've read that your a grandpa WOW! I bet that made you sooo happy. I will think of you & remember you always.
