Heaven got a little brighter this Valentine's Day as Pat Meyer left this world to be with his parents again. They brought him into this world in 1946 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and into this Country in 1953. He grew up in and around Seattle, WA before moving to Everett. Pat graduated from EHS and attended ECC until given the opportunity to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. After two years there, he began a career in the Transportation Industry that was to last 43 years until his death. Just before entering into that career, he sold a pair of shoes to Vivian (Viki) Elaine Eaton, and proposed five days later. They married after three months and began a wonderful journey together that took them all around the world and started two Moving Companies, Quality Moving Systems, in Bellevue, WA, in 1988 and Viking Moving Services, Inc., in Anacortes, WA, in 2003. Pat served in the Rotary Club in Bellevue and was on the Board of the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce for three years.
He loved fishing and golf, and made many deep and lasting friendships doing both. Pat also loved to garden, read and cruise the world. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness in dealing with others and his gentle, loving nature.
Pat is survived by his wife, Viki; daughter, Amy Meyer; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Kathy Meyer; and sister and brother-in-law, Lyn and John Kilian.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer (pancan.org); Pasado's Safe Haven; the Summit Assistance Dogs; the Cat's Meow; and Wolf Hollow Rehabilitation Center.
A Celebration of Life gathering is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., March 5, 2011 at the Croatian Cultural Center in Anacortes.
