Shirley Robley Obituary

Shirley A. Robley, 81, a Manitowoc resident, died Saturday evening, Dec. 3, 2011, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Shirley was born Apr. 20,1930, on the Shawano River in Shawano, Wis., daughter of the late Richard and Bertha (Koehler) Wenzel. She was a graduate of Clintonville High School. On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Vernon V. Robley at Gjerpen Church in Valders. Vernon preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1993. After moving to Manitowoc, she began her employment in the office of Mirro Aluminum Company of Manitowoc. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Barbara and Alex Augustine, Manitowoc; Patricia and David McCarville, Belleville, Wis.; Nancy and Steve Bertsche, Manitowoc; Ronald Robley and Petrea Groll, Manitowoc, and Ronald's twin sister, Karen and Paul Dietrich; Manitowoc; Cheryl and Mark Nessmann, Combined Locks, Wis.; Lynn Robley-Wisniewski and Joseph Wisniewski, Gilbert, Ariz.; 15 Grandchildren, Sarah (Paul) Mlezvia, Eric (Sarah) Augustine, Colin McCarville, Laura McCarville, Amanda (Paul) Barbarossa, Bradley Bertsche, Jason Bertsche, Ryan Dietrich, Garett Dietrich, Lindsay Dietrich, Lauren and Kayla Nessmann, Carsen, Brooke and Hope Wisniewski; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ethan Augustine, Chloe Barbarossa; one brother, Wilbur Wenzel, Clintonville, Wis.; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Karen Robley, Manitowoc; Merlin and Gloria Robley, Reedsville; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and James Arentsen, Sheboygan; Diane and Paul Havlinek, Howards Grove; Val Robley, Kimberly and Vivian Robley, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ulysses Wenzel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Ida Robley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ardis Wenzel, Ilene and Leroy Stock, Royal, Reuben, Lewellyn and Marvin Robley.

A Christian Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom, you are now in the arms of your Savior and loving husband. We will greatly miss you and love you forever.
