Dan wasn't a church goer but one beautiful fall day he burst into the Assembly of God Church in Council ID to find me { his sister Roma} . He was very excited and he waved for me to come outside. There in the back of his pick-was the first elk he ever shot. I sure was happy for him.

Years before, I was there at the Loading Chute when Dan brought down the house singing 'Big John'. His voice boomed through the bar and his was the favorite performance of the evening at open mic night.

Usually, we lived several hours away from each other but there were lots of times that if I was thinking about Dan, he would show up. We had a special connection.

The best of us have many flaws yet Dan never failed in actions or in words to make me feel loved by him.

I'll miss you brother
