S. Close Obituary

S. Wayne Close Dec. 17, 1927 - April 23, 2011 S. Wayne Close, age 83, born in Blossburg PA. December 17, 1927. Graduate of Cornell University as an Electrical Engineer, and worked as an Electrial Engineer till the age of 81. Spent his retirement years in Boise Idaho playing Bridge with Bonaventure Bridge Club. Longtime member of American Theater Organ Society and United States Army Veteran of WW II. He is survived by Kathy Close of California, Kim (Bob Barnoski) Close of Idaho; brother, Keith Close (Andrea) CA. Several Nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy B. Close. The family will receive friends on Monday May 2, 2011 at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/ Southport from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Funeral Service there Monday at 11:00 AM The Reverend Dr. Betsy Crimmins will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Those wishing may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, or the American Theater Organ Society, PO Box 5327, Fullerton Ca. 92838. Family would like to thank the staff of the Mountain States Tumor Institute and the staff at St. Luke's Hospital (four south) for the care given to Wayne.
