Alvin Shrock
age 68, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Al was born in Akron on Aug. 18, 1946 to the late Enos and Sevilla (Raber) Shrock. He retired from Siemen's Water Technology after 44 1/2 years in the water industry. He was a devoted member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy; children, Juanita (Joe) Weaver of Orrville, Katrina (Mike) Detling of Hartville, Shannon (Rebekah) Shrock of Hartville, Dustin (Tenille) Shrock of Canton; grandchildren, Brendan and Alyssa Weaver, Taylor and Peyton Detling, Braeden and Brody Shrock, Ridley Shrock; five brothers, Eli (Pat) of Kansas, Enos Jr. of Berlin, John (Martha) of Massillon, Ray (Jodi) of Massillon, Paul (Jackie) of Millersburg; three sisters, Martha (Willis) Wagler of Sugarcreek, Arrie (Fred) Ledsome of Hartville, Marie (Wendyl) Kandel of Berlin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Elmer (Amanda) Shrock of Florida., Eugene (Ruth) Miller of Hartville, Elton (Margaret) Miller of Springfield, Gaylord (Sandy) Miller of Hartville, Sheryl (Myron) Weaver of Berlin, Mrs. (Myron) Sherry Miller of Hartville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by parents-in-law, Mahlon and Edna Miller; brother, Elmer Shrock and brother-in-law, Myron Miller.
Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Monday 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Larry Augsburger officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maple Grove Mennonite Church Penny Power Fund to assist in providing clean water for underdeveloped countries through Mennonite Central Committee.
