Rosie and Children:
It is hard to believe Bernie has died. He pushed death away so many times, I prayed he had one more knock out punch left. I have known the generous side of Bernie. There is no doubt in my mind that without Bernie and Phil and some of their friends, Scecina would have faced a much shakier future. Because of the vision and generosity of those men, Scecina stands strong today. I also saw the competitive side of Bernie. After finally getting him to understand that he might like duplicate bridge at the Center, he came to play, and he competed with the best. I enjoyed the times that he and Bob played with us in team events. It was good to see his enjoyment and his winning spirit. The beautiful photos on the website tell me that your amazing memories will be there for you whenever you need to feel his spirit. Peace to each of you.

My deepest sympathy to Rosie and the family. Bernie and Rosie were both classmates of mine at Scecina High School. Bernie was so instrumental in keeping our dear class together.
Almost a year before our 55th year reunion, just last year, Bernie told some of us in the class "It's about time to start planning for our next reunion. I'll call Hillcrest and get a room reserved." He was simply amazing and I so admired his desire to live and continue to enjoy his family and friends. A wonderful classmate and dear friend of ours.
