Eugene Bauman Obituary

BURLINGTON - Eugene H. Bauman, 94, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Arbor View Communities in Burlington. He was born May 15, 1917, in Burlington, to Harry and Amelia (nee: Smetana) Bauman. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Burlington and spent his early life on the family farm. On April 23, 1941, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Robers at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1988. Eugene then married Anna Griebenow on May 5, 1990, at St. Charles Catholic Church. Eugene attended St. Charles Grade School and Rochester Agricultural School. He spent his life farming and worked part-time at the Burlington Public Library. Eugene was a member of St. Charles Parish and was involved in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and golfing. Survivors include his loving wife, Anna Bauman of Burlington; children, Don (Marge) Bauman of Raymond Township, James (Carolyn) Bauman of Burlington, David (Ruth) Bauman of Anchorage, Alaska, Carol (Gary) Farvour of Green Lake, Lois Bauman of Racine, and Linda (Ed Miezin) Bauman of Burlington; a step-daughter, Sue (Kevin) Henningfield of Burlington; grandchildren, Jarret Bauman, Rachel (Adam) Smith, Audra Bauman, Rita (Frank) Marinkovich, Pamela Zavodski, Stephan (Belinda) Bauman, Brenda (Lawrence) Indyk, Nathan (Cody) Farvour, and Seth Farvour; step-grand- children, Jenny Johnson, Chris Johnson, Sarah Cherek, Kylie Henningfield, and Cassie Henningfield; and three additional step-grand- children and great- grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, Samantha, John Mark, and Isak Marinkovich, Joshua and Caleb Bauman, Sammy and Audrey Indyk, Stella and Franklin Farvour; and nine step-great-grand- children. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Amelia; his first wife, Lorraine; his sisters, Virginia (Rollin) Vos and Blanche (Elmer) Ketterhagen; and a step- son, Michael Griebenow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 12 noon at St. Charles Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Amann officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Charles Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 until 11:45 a.m. at the church. Memorials have been suggested to St. Charles Church. Eugene's family would like to say thank you to Aurora VNA Hospice, especially Connie, Tammy, and Angie, and also to the staff at Arbor View Memory Unit for all the care and compassion they gave Eugene.
