Dear Jansen Family,
My mom, Dorothy Jansen Mason, was a cousin to Jerry. Her dad was Peter Jansen -- all of De Pere, WI. They came down a couple times to the reunion in West Allis and remained big fans -- as we all did -- during Mike and Dan's racing careers. My parents died in 2000 (Dotty) and 1998 (Mel), but I pass on my condolences to your inspirational family.

My condolences to Jim and his family. Your Father was a very nice and approachable man. My best memory of him- he heard my concern in making mistake logging statistics for the WAC varsity basketball team. With his guidance teaching me who to watch and how the guys had a pattern on how they passed and handled the basketball, Coach Stech found no mistakes with my stats from that time forward. I thanked him, he shook my hand and bid me good luck. He had an amazing grip and large hands!! The next week he asked how my stats were- I told him 100%. He winked and said keep up the good work! Once he asked me to keep an eye on your younger brother, Dan, so your parents could watch the JV team. I happily accepted his request. You have a strong, close and amazing family. May your father's love and the many memories comfort you and your family in the coming months. Prayers offered for you, your Mother and your entire family.

I just heard of Harry's passing today. My condolences to the family. I have great memories of my dad and Harry at the finish line, timing the races - in all kinds of weather. What a great gentleman! God's Blessings.

Dan, I remember how excited I was to stop by the Jansen house once during a break from the West Allis races...your Dad and Mom welcomed me with open arms! I always remembered that smile on your Dad's face. A good man indeed. Sending prayers...

My condolences to the Jansen family. From the time I was a 7th grader & slept on a sofa at the Jansen's house to get some ice time during Christmas break through my adult life Mr. Jansen was a friend you could count on. A big handshake but an even bigger heart.

Harry was very helpful, welcoming and friendly when we first arrived at the "rink" and for years after. I think his chicken wings were famous before chicken wings took over the planet. To have such a wonderful family must add comfort at this sad time. My sincerest condolences and prayers are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Harry helped us all appreciate how cold it really got at the old rink. We spent quite a few years out there and they were probably some of the best years of our lives in speed skating. We're going to miss you Harry Jansen. Thank you for all of the memories.

Our sympathies to the Jansen family. We got to know Harry as part of the West Allis Speedskating Club family. He was always kind to the new skaters and helpful with suggestions. Always smiling when you saw him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Jim and the entire Jansen family, our hearts and prayers are with you at this time. Growing up together, I have many memories of times spent with your family. From scounting events, activities at St Augustine, taking me golfing for the first time, it only seems like yesterday. Jim, your dad was a caring, warm hearted man who cared so very much for his family and their extended family of friends. Though the miles and time has separate many of us, our thoughts are with you at this time.

To the entire Jansen Family:
We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We pray that all the wonderful memories, family traditions, and pictures will live on in your hearts and keep "Mr. Jansen" always close to each and every one of you. On a personal note, "Harry" had the largest hand I think I have ever had the pleasure of shaking! ....and what a grip! He was part of that generation that worked so very hard, provided for their family, and will leave behind a legacy very difficult to match. Our thoughts & prayers to all of you at this sad time, but as we know & believe, he is receiving his Heavenly greeting of "Well done, good & faithful servant!
