I am just learning of Jimmy's passing, much too late. While I had not seen or heard from him in many years, I still thought of him and his family often. I miss hearing him and Clair playing the guitar etc. I also always enjoyed seeing Jimmy's woodworking projects too, one of which I still possess. I guess GOD needed another guitar player. My deepest condolences to his family.

Heard of Jimmy's passing from a friend and retired WPD officer. I worked with Jimmy on WPD back in 1988 and have very fond memories of him. And a funny story which I'm sure there are many. He will be missed I'm sure from family and co-workers.

I am saddened to hear that Jim passed away this week. He was a great friend and mentor in my early days with the WPD. We attended recruit class together in 1984 and became unlikely but instant friends. Jim had been a reserve officer before joining WPD as a regular officer in 1984. Because of his experience, he already "knew the ropes" and became the leader of our class.
Jim and I shared an apartment until I married in 1987. Our place on Westlawn was a frequent after-3rd shift gathering spot for the NE team from '84 to '87. It was a close knit group I will remember forever. Jim was a cherished member of that team. We will all miss him.
In the 20 years since I left the WPD, I've only seen Jim a handful of times, but I remember his dry humor and humble generosity like it was yesterday. Typically his humor was self-deprecating, but occasionally I was on the receiving end of his Wil Rogers-like witticisms (ouch!). Caron and I are reminded everyday of his generosity. Jim was a talented woodworking craftsman (not just a carpenter, he was a real craftsman). The antique china cabinet he repaired and refinished for us as a wedding gift remains a fixture in our home.
Caron and I will miss you and never forget you.

Maybe the funniest guy I know. Always found humor in even the hardest things. Fantastic hunter and fisherman. My favorite cousin!! You will be missed here, but there's no doubt that you're already making God smile!!

Jim was a good friend who was always there for you. We will always remember all the hunting and fishing trips together. If it was just planning a big game hunt, a camping trip in the mountians,or just a weekend fishing trip. It was easy to see what he enjoyed doing so much. All of which he will be remembered and missed. Our condulances go out to his family.

Jimmy, Few of us got to know how incredibly generous and kind you were to your friends. I will be forever greatful getting to hear your Jimmy Johnson "philosophies and foolishness" over the past 11 years. Clint, Kathy, Jeff, Ray, Cheryl, Atnip and even your beloved Molly will know what I mean. We all love you! I hope heaven has lots of fishing poles, Marlin rifles for hunting and Martin guitars for bluegrass picking so you don't get too bored. I know you didn't want any of us to fuss about it, because it's "embarassing" for you, but since this day came, ( I know all of us feel the same) "I'm not crying for you, I'm crying for me." I'm going to miss you my friend. Thanks Jimmy for all the good memories, I love ya brother!
