My heart aches for you...I miss you so much, but you were called away and had to go...I place my sorrow in God's abiding hand to help me and the family move closer to releasing our grief...always... As Mechell often said that life it begins and ends with God...

My heart is saddened after receiving news of Shell's death. We were
friends during law school. I thought of him often over the years. I am enlightened that he married and had a family who will cherish his memory (I am sure). So, condolences to the wife, Mrs Deinna, and know that God will shoulder the loss and give you comfort and peace. The Lord will do it for you and you will overcome. Be strong in the Lord and the power of his might. Judy A. Leach, Attorney At Law, Indianapolis, IN

I was shocked to learn of Mechell's passing. We grew up in the same community in Marshall, and graduated from Pemberton together. It is hard to know what to say to make a difference during the loss of a loved one,but I would like Mechell's family to know, that memories are the legacy of love, and, that God is always there for you. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Deinna and the Johnson Family,

I pray that God will give you the strength and courage you need to get thru the difficult days ahead. I pray that the good will outshine the pain that I know is in your hearts right now. I pray that the memories of your loved one will help you smile every day and I pray you will never forget from where your strength comes...God has you in the palm of his hand. So when it seems unbearable, remember God restores. Ask him to "have mercy" and he will. May God bless and keep you.

Once in a life-time, you get to meet someone that has an impact on the rest of your life. God has blessed me with several someones that have made that impact on my life. One was 'Chell'. From the time we met, we hit it right off. From Pemberton High School, Wiley College and Thurgood Marshall Law School. We were step by step in these endeavors. We use to talk for hours on the phone and when we were through, we had the problems of the world solved. If only someone would listen to us. From the 1969 Cadillac club to the Deer hunting fiascos that we perpetrated that ended in disasters. We were still a team. Life was full of joy and we were living that dream . Life was good . We were there to taste it. Then we grew of age. I, will never forget that impact and never should our class-mates of what 'Chell ' meant to us. May God always hold us close to his bosom and keep us in his arms. My heart and love goes out to his family. Love you all, always, Carl Leffall and Family.
