RAMONA ROTHENBERGER Obituary
Ramona L. Rothenberger, age 80, passed away in Winton, CA on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Mrs. Rothenberger was born July 31, 1930 in Greensburg, Kansas to Pearl and Louie Nightengale.
Ramona had been employed by Livingston Telephone Co. and Pacific Bell a combined 40 years as a telephone operator. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in Winton, Ca.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Chidlaw of Palo Cedro, CA, Gena Kaufman of Modesto and Larry Nightengale of San Jose, 2 nieces and 4 nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Rothenberger.
Ramona graduated from Livingston High School in 1948, her favorite subjects being home economics and biology. Cooking was her passion, and she shared many recipes with friends and family. She loved beautiful flowers and plants. She also enjoyed sewing, and when in better health, loved cooking Mexican dinners for friends. Her favorite pastime was playing Scrabble with her good friend, Sylvia. Ramona has many cousins in Greensburg, Kansas and enjoyed spending time there when she could.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Winton. Burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Family Funeral Chapel of Atwater.
