Rose Buettner Apr 29, 1920 - Nov 2, 2010 Born April 29, 1920 in Portland, Maine, Rose Marie Miller Buettner, grew up in Stockton, California and then lived in rural Escalon her entire life. Rose is survived by her children Robert Leslie Miller, Sr. (Victoria), of Ripon, California, Judy Warmerdam (John) of Modesto, California, Terry Buettner (Loretta) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Ed Buettner (Deborah) of Corvalis, Oregon, Tena Chinn of Sparks, Nevada, sisters May Lager of Las Vegas, Nevada, Josephine Castleton of Merced, California, and brother George Morris of Downey, California. Rose was known as GG to her nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: Robert Leslie Miller, Jr., Jim Sharp, Rob Sharp, Dale Buettner, Scott Buettner, Andrea Buettner, Nathan Buettner, Brian Howard, and Jennifer Tucciarone. Rose's great-grandchildren are Robert Leslie Miller, III, Taylor Miller, Ellie Sharp, Annie Sharp, William Sharp, Brady Sharp, Carly Buettner, Annie Buettner, William Buettner, Owen Buettner,Leo Tucciarone, Sam Tucciarone, and Tom Tucciarone. As a young woman, Rose graduated from Business College and worked for 11 years as secretary to the president of Union Safe Deposit Bank. She met her husband, Merlin Miller while working at the bank. They married in 1950, and Rose elected to devote her time to her family, helping her husband on the ranch. Rose took great pride in the Miller Ranch, creating the Miller Ranch logo and keeping the books. Her husband, Merlin died in 1976. Rose married Warren ''Bones'' Buettner in 1980. The two cherished friends and family and enjoyed travel, appreciated the outdoors, RV-ing and fishing, spending summers in Livingston, Montana each year. Rose became a widow again in 1994, and since then has lived in the same home she designed and resided in since 1954. Rose belonged to many different social clubs and groups, such as the Monday Night Football Group, Ladies Luncheon Club (LLC), Atlanta Women and the BG's to name a few. In her later years, Rose loved to dine out with her many cherished friends. Her generosity was legend, and her heart, warm and caring. Rose had the ability to make all that knew her feel uniquely special. Rose enjoyed attending CrossPoint Community Church with her family, friends and most recently her caregiver Kathy Quigley, whom God sent to be with her in her last years. Rose suffered from congestive heart failure, yet without a doubt lived a rich, full life. With her family and close friends by her bedside, on her last night on Earth, Rose said good-byes with confidence, grace and even humor, certain she would soon see Jesus. She passed into eternity peacefully and is now at Home, waiting for her beloved family to join her. There will be a private graveside, with the celebration of life planned for Monday, November 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at CrossPoint Community Church, 12th and Needham Streets, Modesto, California.
