Floyd Ison Obituary

Funeral service for Floyd Ison 85, of Midland will be Monday, January 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jackie Warren Funeral Home Chapel.

Floyd Ison died January 2, in Odessa, Texas. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Jackie Warren Funeral Home.

Born January 2, 1923 to Josh Ison and Viola Welch, in Waldron, Arkansas and was educated in Artesia, New Mexico.

In 1943 he served in the US Army during W.W.II and was assigned to the medics united in England and was also assigned as a driver for then General Dwight Eisenhower.

Upon his discharge from the Army in 1946, he was in the lumber business and owned several saw mills and was a wholesale lumber business in the El Paso and south New Mexico area. He also owned Yucca Construction and was involved in the oil production business until his retirement. He was a 32' degree mason.

His father, mother, 2 brothers, one sister and a son preceded him in death.

He was married to Helen Burnett in 1943, of Artesia, NM and 1967 married to Eva Reza of Eagle Pass, TX. They survive him. Also survive him are his sons, Kevin Ison and wife Stoni of Midland, Mike Ison and wife Sheryl of Brownfield, TX; daughters, Lisa Pena and husband Victor of Trinity, TX. and Brenda Evans and husband Lawson of Artesia of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
