It is so hard to believe it has almost been THREE weeks since my dear dad departed for glory. It is so hard knowing he is "not here" anymore....like he so faithfully was for SO MANY years. Not that I talked to him that often, but just the security of knowing he was always there for me. I miss you, Dad !! I will see you again, in that beautiful city above.

I'm sad that none of my family could be there. We are grateful for the joy and love Uncle Joel brought to our lives. We pray for the entire family as we work through the grief of not being able to see or hear him again, until we meet again in the lovely home where goodbyes are never needed.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of grief. I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Chappell for a very short time. What a sweet, kind man he was. He will be greatly missed.

Very heartfelt sympathy for you all at this time. Words can not take away the sting, but knowing he is in a better place and you will one day be together again. He is with God, God is in your heart, he will always be with you in your heart.

I cannot thank the Lord enough for granting me and my family safe passage through all the fierce snow and ice of the past week in order to see you to your resting place. I not only see it as a farewell to a beloved granddad, but also a wonderful, humble veteran who served during not only America's greatest hour of need, but also the world divided and torn by war. I cannot thank you enough for not only teaching me the value of patriotism, but also respect of the military along with my dad and other relatives. I know my demeanor will never come near as ya'lls, but I hope to improve where I am weak.
It's been an honor to be a member of your family and an honor to render a proper farewell to fellow veteran and as a Guardsman.
