About a man so young and bright
About a child whose eyes shown bright
With a smile that could light up the night
The moon replied with comfort and love
Do not stand by his grave and weep
He is not here, he does not sleep
He is a thousand winds that blow
He is the diamond glints on snow
He is the sunlight on the ripened grain
He is the gentle autumn rain
When you wake in the morning hush
He is the swift uplifting rush
Of singing birds in flight
He is the stars that shine at night
Do not stand at his grave and cry
He is not there he, did not die
I shared a memory with the moon
About a man who was taken too soon.

A Buffalo Soldier, Mentor and great Friend. I am honestly crushed by your absence. I will always remember you, Brother. I will see you at the canteen halfway down the road...

I served with Barry in Korea when we were both young Warrants. He was always energetic and hungry to learn and share his knowledge. He always was trying to be there for the team and he will be missed.

I had the pleasure to work with Barry as he was spending time in his fellowship program at US-CERT. He was a ball of energy and optimistic, always up for a chance to help someone with a concept or technology. He helped me personally with some of my coursework and I won't forget that. His loss will be a huge one to his wife and family of course, but also to the Army for all the soldiers that cannot benefit from his enthusiasm and experience for cybersecurity. You will be missed, Rest Easy Soldier.

Our sincere condolences go out to the family of Chief Fountain after his untimely passing. We had just begun a working relationship in November and planned on meeting up with him down here in Texas in December. We were all in shock when we heard the news.
