Jo Evelyn Foust Brown, of Lake City, Tennessee, passed away in Franklin on October 18, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born in Lake City on April 11, 1941.
Jo Evelyn was preceded in death by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, James Morris (Whitey) Brown. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Joetta Sander (Jimm Sander) and her son Kevin James Brown (Sarah Brown), who will forever cherish her memory.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Lucina Smith, and is survived by her sisters Margine Stevens and Condine Foust, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Jo Evelyn retired from TVA, where she was a dedicated and hardworking employee. She loved working with embroidery and earned awards for her beautiful, detailed work. She was also an avid reader and always enjoyed the companionship of a kitty cat by her side.
A woman of deep faith, Jo Evelyn was a longtime member of Longfield Baptist Church in Lake City. She lived her faith through generosity and compassion, especially during the Christmas season, when she took special joy in helping families in need experience the warmth and magic of the holidays.
Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.
Funeral services will be held at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, November 1st, with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate her life and the many ways she touched the hearts of those who knew her.
