Mrs. Janet Loraine Gardner, 77, of Adrian passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on April 6, 1948, in Suffolk,Virginia to the late Hoyle Garris and Eula Janette Mulder Grizzard. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Gardner; brother, Robert T. Grizzard, Jr.; and sister, Mari Evelyn Rich. She spent her early adult life traveling all over the United States with her husband Ernest, a journeyman lineman. After his retirement, they settled in Adrian Georgia where she worked as a cafeteria manager at Adrian school. After her retirement she enjoyed working with her flowers, crossword puzzles, and coloring. She loved traveling and spending time with her two nieces, Ginna Marie Dyson and Jane (PJ) Vicent, going on many adventures. She was a Christian woman who loved her family.

She is survived by her son, David Gardner; sisters, Dawn Boaen (Tooter) of Savannah, Lynda Becker of Swainsboro, Angie Smith (Ralph) of Brunswick; brother, Thomas Garris (Jane) of Adrian; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

The family would like to thank all the staff and management at Scott Rehabilitation nursing home for taking such good care of her in her final years.
