Kelly Lonette Wagner, of Vega, Texas, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025.
Kelly was born October 6, 1968, in Dallas, TX to Lavina Fern Jennings and William Lon Pendley.
Services will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Vega with Pastor Brian Hevrin officiating. Burial will be at Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1986. In her younger years, Kelly worked alongside her family at their family-owned bingo hall, Hamlet Bingo, where she made countless friends and memories. On January 27, 1990, she married the love of her life, Douglas Wagner, and together they built a beautiful life centered around love, laughter, and family. They were blessed with three wonderful children—Garrett, Forest, and Haley, and five grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Kelly had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, and left behind four loyal companions who brought her endless joy.
For the past 15 years, Kelly shared her energy and kindness as a water aerobics instructor at the Hereford Aquatic Center, where she inspired and encouraged everyone she met. On weekends, she could often be found “wheeling and dealing” at craft shows across the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma, and surrounding areas, selling her treasures with her signature smile, wit, and unforgettable contagious laugh.
Known for her fabulous sense of humor and undeniable charm, Kelly was an avid shopper with a self-proclaimed “minor shopping addiction.” She faced life with courage, generosity, and laughter. She loved to travel, especially with her sister and daughter and cherished every adventure, big or small.
Kelly was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit, and the love she poured into her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas in 2023, father William Lon Pendley, grandparents, sister Pam Pendley and many beloved dogs.
Survivors include her sons, Garrett Wagner (Maranda) of Hereford, and Forest Wagner of Vega; daughter Haley Wagner of Canyon; mother Lavina Pendley, sister, Tammy Pendley, brother David Pendley, all of Amarillo; grandchildren, Levi and Luke Wagner, Sadie, Mindi, and Lacy Urbanczyk.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gracie’s Project PO Box 2512 Amarillo, TX 79015 or ASPCA https://www.ASPCA.org in memory of Kelly Wagner.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
