Lawrence Clayton “Larry” Walls, age 71, of Bland, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on July 28, 1954, in Sullivan, a son to the late John and Lucy V. (Valley) Walls.
On April 29, 2006 he was united in marriage to Lou Shaw at the V.F.W. hall in Cuba. Lou survives of their home in Bland.
Larry had been employed as a maintenance man for area motels in Tulsa for many years and had been attending the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Belle with Lou.
Larry enjoyed camping and fishing, listening to oldies music on Saturdays, and watching wrestling. He enjoyed a good meal and loved the holidays with all the food and fixings. Larry was clever and could always find a way to solve any problem presented to him. Above all, Larry loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by: his wife, Lou Walls of Bland; two daughters, Andrea Bridgette of Sullivan and Heather Walls of Rolla; three sons, Mathew Walls of Union, Edward Bartle and his wife Shannon of Union, and Michael Bartle of Bland; and nine grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death one son, Joey Walls, one sister Mary Ellen Walls, a brother, Edward Eugene Walls, and his step-father, John Shaw.
A memorial service for Larry will be held at a later date and will be announced by Sassman’s Chapel.
